No person will be excluded from education in México: Leticia Ramírez Amaya / @Letamaya @SEP_mx

#SEP.- In commemorating International Literacy Day, the Secretary of Public Education (SEP), Leticia Ramírez Amaya, affirmed that no person should be excluded from education in Mexico, because it is a pillar of Mexico’s Fourth Transformation.

She assured that when illiteracy is combated in the country, it is congruent with one of the fundamental principles of the transformation: to combat inequality and build opportunities for all, as a matter of human rights, which impacts the development of individuals, their families and their communities.

During her participation in the colloquium «Challenges and perspectives of education for young people and adults», organized by the National Institute of Education for Adults (INEA), the Minister of Education said that work is being done to offer the necessary tools to four million people to become literate in the country, because education is a collective matter, of the whole society, of promoters, teachers, parents and students.

After congratulating INEA on its 41st anniversary, he commented that there are 880 million people in the world who are not literate, a number that should not exist. Therefore, the great challenge of education is that all girls, boys, young people and adults are in the classroom.
